WOW!!! I can not believe that our little boys is already 3 months old! He is 14lbs 24" and the cutest kid I know! He has dicovered his voice... he coos all day long and love singing along to music-especially when daddy plays his guitar. He also laughed for the first time last week! It was so precious and halarious at the same time! He is very aware of things around him which makes it very fun for us. He loves his toys, especially this cute little gator that Mamma Aje got him. He has a pretty bad addiction to sucking on his hands. He hasnt landed on any one favorite finger yet (knock on wood) but he definately prefers them to a binky. He has the biggest smile and a dimple that makes me weak! His hair is just about gone, but hopefully it will grow back soon! I am going to learn how to use another source to post pictures because this way is too slow, so for now here a few updated pix!

Reef

We have already filled and had to empty the memory cards on both our camera because we are obsessed with Reef! These pictures are all from our very long stay in the hospital.

So, here's the scoop on Reef's entrance into the world. After experiancing major pain in my lower back and hips for about 2 days straight, we finally decided to go to the hospital Monday Dec 21st around 11pm. We were taken to triage to be examed. At this point I was at about 3cm! I was thrilled to know that I had made some progress. We spent the next hour walking around and made it to a 4. We were of course excited because even though I was already having extreme back pain, we were making progress. We were then admitted and decided to try to get some sleep. Tuesday morning arrived and Mama Aje was on her way. She gave me strict instructions to keep the baby in until she got there...boy would I regret agreeing to this! With the routine check ups through the night, we were getting disappointed becasuse I was no longer progressing at a quick rate. In fact it was taking about 3-5hrs for each cm, and my pain was increasing serverly through my back and hips with every contraction... not fun! Around 4am, my Dr. ( Dr Kells... bless his soul!) decided to break my water. I had heard that this can be painful but with all the built up pressure I was having it was such a relief!

Unfortunately, after many, many, MANY more hours of intense labor and back pain, I was still progressing very slowly and hadnt slept at all. So I decided to get an epidural= GOOD CHOICE! I was able to get some sleep through the rest of my struggle to dialate. And it really was a struggle. I cant even tell you how many nurses we went through! Thankfully they were all wonderful and encouraging. Around 1am on Wednesday...yes that's right... Wedesday, I finally got to a 10 and was given the go ahead to start pushing. I worked with the nurse for about half an hour until Dr. Kells arrived. After a brief examination, he quickly decided that it was time to get this little baby out.... C-Section. I am still suprised to even think this, but I was so relieved when he made the decision. And so was Alex. We both just looked at each other, and I could see on his face that he was as happy as I was just to know that very soon we our baby would be here.

We were both quickly prepped for surgery and taken to our delivery room. The surgery went so smoothly. On Wednesday December 23rd at 4:31am Reef was born and we were both just instantly overwhelmed with joy. He cried right away and I was able to watch as Alex stood by as the nurses cleaned him up. Alex cut his cord with a very proud daddy face. I was able to see Reef just briefly before I was taken to get finished up. We were exhausted afterward, but it was so worth it! Soon we were all together in our recovery room.... finally Reef had made us a little family.

My mom (Mamma Aje) was able to be there for most of my very long labor.... about 27 hours from the time we were admited. I am so thankful to have had her there for added support for me and for Alex. We were sad to see her go just one day after Reef was born, but it was Christmas Eve and she needed to be with our family.

We spent Christmas in the hospital and although we missed our families, it was so special to spend our first Christmas together just the 3 of us. Words cannot express how just being together and not caring about anything else in the world put into perspective how much we love this little baby boy. We couldnt have asked for a better Christmas present.

We are loving parenthood so far. Reef is such a sweet baby and he has made the transition so easy for us. I am so thankful to everyone for the support and love that you have given us. And I am especially grateful to have Alex. He is such a great dad and I would be undoubltbly pulling out my hair by now if I didnt have him by my side.

Back It Up!!!!

After about 2 months of going without, we finally got our computer fixed. One would think that this would bring great happiness but unfortunately everthing I ever saved was deleted. So all my pictures, music (like hundreds of $$$s worth), documents, etc.... GONE!!!!

So my NEW New Year's Resolution= Back Up EVERTYHING onto an external hard drive.

Christmas Performances

I am so proud of all my dancers!!! The progress this semester has been really amazing. I am especially happy with the focus on memorization that has been put forth. As you all know, my baby boy is expected to come pretty much any time after Thanksgiving. This may cause me to miss a show or two depending on his timing. Please know that I feel confident in putting all my classes on stage, even in the event of my absense. I feel very blessed to have such amazing co-workers that have been willing to fill in for me if I cant be there. Thank you for your support durring my pregnancy... I have the best students/partents ever!!! That being said, I hope to be able to attend as much as physically possible!
Here is the schedule for all:

Higher Ground:In Class Performances
-Monday Nov 30th: 10-11am Ballet, 2:15-3:15pm Ballet
-Wed Dec 2nd: 10-10:30am Combo
-Thurs Dec 3rd: 9:30-10:30am Combo

We will have seating in the studio for guests to watch our entire class! We will hold a modified class to show you what we haved learned, perform the Christmas dance, and then have a little party. Please being a treat to share at the end of class. I will provide a bag for each dancer. Treats do not need to be food- it can be anything! If you do choose to bring an editable snack, please make sure it is individually wrapped as we cannot eat in the studio. Cameras welcome!!!!

I'm sure that many of you can relate to the absolute madness that comes with preparing for a baby! I am almost 35 weeks and really starting to feel the reality of starting a family... we are so excited!!!! But of course with baby boy on his way very soon and recital season in full swing, I am so busy. Then to top it all off, my computer crashed this week.... I know, that's the word that came to my mind too! I am in Thatcher for the weekend, so I'm going to try to update as much as possible before we leave. In the mean time, I have re-opened my facebook account and I can access it from my phone, so I post pictures on there more often than here. Please feel free to friend me and check out the full albums from these posts! Here's what's been going on lately:

Had my baby shower in October at AZ Desert Dance where I teach. My mom and Shay were able to come up which was awesome. I got so much adorable and much needed baby stuff! I feel so blessed to have such great friends as co-workers, students, and parents at our studio.

We had an ultra sound.... just for fun mostly... at 33 weeks. Alex was able to take me to my app that day and it was so great! I loved seeing his face light up when we were looking at our boy... he is going to be such a great dad and I feel very blessed about that. Baby is growing great. He is totally healthy, strong heartbeat, and almost ready to make his debut! We cannot wait to meet him!!!

Sean had a football game in Chandler that Krysta and I were able to go to. My younger siblings, parents, and our other family the Bryces were all there. Sean scored a TD which was AWESEOME!!! Then we headed to Inn N Out for a post game dinner. Such a fun night!

My niece Makynna turned 2! Krysta and I were able to come down for a couple days. We carved pumpkins and then celebrated Miss Maky's big day.

Halloween was of course awesome as usual! I love Halloween... and Alex and Krysta really helped make it special this year. I came home from work to a totally decorated house and porch!! We carved Jack O Lanterns and even played spooky sounds at night! All my dancers dressed up for class and had a little trick or treat at the end of class. It is always so fun to see my students all dressed up!

Today I did a maternity photo session with Erin Householder. It was so much fun! She picked somer really great loctations. She is very talented and I cant wait to post some of the finished pictures!

Tomorrow is my baby shower here, and I am so excited!!!! so many people have worked hard to make it great and I just know its going to be the best!

Truck for Sale

Its very clean, runs great, cold AC, dark tinted windows and the tires are less than a year old. We are only asking the Kelly Blue Book price on it- $7000. Football Game Fun

Baby Boy

I had an appointment this past week and everything is looking good. My measurments say that we are right on track. Baby Boy's heart is beating strong and he is moving.... ALOT! He is head down (according to Doc but I could've told ya that based on the regular kicks to the ribs!) and growing at just the right rate. We are going to be putting together his crib (Thanks Tyrell and Janae) this weekend and start making room for his stuff. I'm very excited to start preparing for him to be here!!! I am still teaching full time and so far I'm still feeling great. No swollen ankles, minimal back pain, and not too much fatigue. This, somehow makes some people a little angry...maybe their pregnancies were more diffficult? I don't know, but you know what they say "misery loves company!" lol. I am just very thankful to be able ot continue teaching and making money to prepare for BB's arrival. Thanks to everyone who is helping to make my pregnancy super easy!!! love you all!

So many of you have been asking me if its really my birthday this weekend and even though I've been lying YES its my birthday this Saturday. I'm feeling pretty old because I realized that I'm now closer to 25 than to 20! But I guess that's ok since I'm gonna be a mamma soon. Thanks for all the fun gifts and cards so far!!!! I will be enjoying my whole birthday weekend relaxing at my parents house.... well as relaxed as it gets over there anyway. I'll post some pics and details later this week.

My Feet Hurt

I know that its kinda stating the obvious, but my feet have pretty much hurt for a week straight. I realize that all pregnant women suffer through this, but I don't think that most pregnant woman teach tap 20+ hours a week! And it really doesn't help that my dang hip hurts... not so much while I stand and just a little when I dance.. but it hurts really bad when I sit. So its basically this choice- Either my feet can feel better or my hip. Not a great rock and hard place to be between. I'm not trying to be a cry baby... but I could really use some help!

ANY SUGGESTIONS????

Please all you working moms who have had to be on your feet all day tell me how you delt with it. :)

In Case You Haven't Heard!!!

Well, its really no big secret now, but in case you haven't heard...... Alex & I are having a baby!
We are very excited. As far as we can tell (crossing fingers for no last minute suprises!) its a boy and he is due December 20th. He is very healthy and so far so I am. I've been cleared to teach up until I deliver and will hopefully have a speady recovery afterward. So if you see me waddling around the dance studio, no... I didn't just eat a little too much. :) I'll try to keep up on regular baby updates, but with a hectic as ever work schedule and a super tired pregnant body I can't make any promises. Thanks for all the love and support thus far!!! :)

Dancing Sisters

So this week was probably the craziest day of my life! (I say this knowing that next week will probably top it) Just to give you an idea I had Picture Week in all my Higher Ground morning ballet/tap, and baby classes.... yes that's right- all 3 classes together -17 to be exact. We had rehearsal on stage in Globe Tues and Thurs. Then Friday after not getting into my bed from the madness of Thurs til after 1am, it was get a house and then drive back to Globe day!!! (But I did get to drive the boss's Tahoe which is also a bonus!) Friday my Globe girls performed at the Relay for Life and did great... but it was SO SO SO HOT! You can check out the sunburn on my legs for proof. I spent the night in Globe then we had our 2 shows today which was followed by running to my car and hurrying back to the valley... or so I thought. There was some sorta acciedent which shut off power in like half the city and I couldn't get gas since the pumps are electronic. So I had to do some crazy fast (but safe Mom) driving to get the Chandler show. I pulled up at 5 til and just made the curtain call!

Yes..... I am as tired as you think! lol

So the brunt of all of this is that tonight my sister has their recital in Safford. And I had to miss it! I almost turned around after the first gas station... I thought "wow, this would be the perfect excuse to miss my show!" But then I thought of my little dancers and just coudn't do it.So to my beautiful sisters I'd like to say.... Sorry for missing your show. I know that you did great. You are both such amazing dancers and I am so proud of you! This is Krysta's last show, which made it even harder for me to miss. I've been there... I know that feeling sis, when the curtain closes and you realize that this is the last time you will be on that stage. Its strange. I so wanted to be there to give you the biggest hug ever. But then again, you're not really a baby about that kinda stuff like I am, so I hope you got a chance to stare out at the empty seats and feel great about what's to come! I hope your little dancers did great. I'm sure they did with a teacher like you!!! I hope you had a chance to give them all a big hug and take in that special love that they have for you!

Shay- WOW! I hear such wonderful things about you. You are so talented and I just can't believe how grown up you are! I remember your first recital in company... you kept coming into the choir room to sit with me and Krysta. I used to think it was because you were nervous, but as you've gotten older I know that its just because that's where you belong! I know it sounds so corney but I can't imagine not having you around- especially when I think of dance! You are becoming a great dancer and teacher and I can't wait for the many shows ahead!

I know that it probably sounds really lame or fake to those of you who dont know my sisters, but who know me well, but they are the best!!!! I think they are probably the opposite of me in all the best ways and I'm always trying to be more like them! They are caring and sweet and quiet in a way that's not even possible for me. They can dance with the best of em, and they are truly special to me and to their studio family. I wish I could've been there tonight, but I know that you girls will still love me! Thanks for being who you are!!!!

Blog Repentance

I would like to take the time to say.... LEAVE ME ALONE OR COME BE MY PERSONAL ASSISTANT :) Many of you have really been on my case. "Whitney your blog is so cute and you are so lame for never updating it!" Or the ever popular..."Why do you only post on your dance blog?" Well, lets see, maybe because I am basically personal assistant to my boss lady and work almost 60 hours a week. So I sorry that I am a blog slacker, but until my life settles down a little I can't make any promises. I will however catch you up, Reader's Digest Style!

As of now, I am currently in the market for a new home- hopefully buying, but if not renting. I plan on renting out rooms to come great girls and my fabulous sister Krysta so that I can work only like a regular person and less like a regular Ajeman. I'm looking at 3 properties right now, and I have a favorite but I don't wanna give details until its official. (If you have nothing better to do the 3rd week of May and 1st week of June, I'd be happy to let you help me move)

I am about to start the busiest time of year---- RECITAL TIME!!!!! so if I don't answer my phone, you know why. lol. My kids are all so great and I can't wait to watch em work it out on stage. Our Globe/Mesa dancers from Lynn's and AZDD will compete in May and then I have a show every weekend after that. Its so stressful but also the most fun part of my job. Come support my kids if you're around :D

I just got to go home for Easter and it was great! It was actually my first Easter home since I've moved out. I only got to go home for one night but it was totally worth it! I love spending time with my family-especially on holidays like that. Its nice now that I'm more settled in my teaching career and I can actually afford to go home on a wim like that. I can't wait til I move and I can actually not work on saturdays! Its funny how I look back on the past few years. When I was first on my own, I litterally had to work as much as possible just for hot water and food. Now I mostly work because I can't help it.... its in my blood! But I so much look forward to going home and doing nothing more than sitting around my folk's house in my pjs and just talking and laughing! So thanks guys for a great easter weekend!!!!

We just finished Bday month. Sean 3/27... 18. Shay 4/4...14. and Krysta 4/11....20. So I was happy that I could bring them all gifts! It was a crazy bday year. All were turning to the next stage in life! Its to fun to watch my brothers and sisters grow up... although sometimes I really miss out on stuff. But that's part of it right? So a shout out to the spring babies! I LOVE YOU!!!!

I think that's pretty much it for now. I'm working out my summer schedule. I am starting my own dance convention so most of my effort is going into that! Hopefully it will take off! I promise that I will rewind and post pics of all the stuff sitting on my camera as soon as I move and have an office to trap myself in

Food Drive: Please Donate!!!

The older I get, the less receiving at Christmas becomes important to me. I have decided to stop "sitting on the bench" and do something good this year. I have been pondering about what I could possibly do that would make a difference for someone in a big way. With extremely limited funds and time its been hard to find something that would do the trick. With a little inspiration from an article in the paper the other day, I have decided to do a "Dancing for Christmas Dinner Food Drive." I'm setting a goal to gather at least 500 cans of food to donate to a food bank before Christmas. Along with this I will be organizing a "Dance -Athon" with money pledges and donations to donate to a local Christmas Wish Foundation. If you have any canned goods or money that you would like to donate to this cause (even just 1 can and a couple bucks will make a huge difference) please contact me at wmajeman@live.com or simply bring your donation to me before or after class anytime! I will be sending out an email to everyone I know, but that is still not very many people...so please forward the message to as many people as you can! Although I am lucky enough to work at several places, I will be doing this on my own, so please do not take donations to any of the businesses I work at unless you are certain I'm there to take it. I ended up finishing my last post in just enough time to drive straight to work... so here are the pictures that I ment to post along with my last entry :) These are a few of our most recent professional family photos which were taken by my sister in law's dad. (Who did a great job!) I think it was Feb of this year, but I could be wrong. This is just a few streets behind my parent's house in the good ol' Thatcher desert... but being the "bike" family that we are, it is fitting. Its funny, because of all the family pictures we have taken, I think these are the best... and seriously.... we changed, drove around the corner, set up the bikes, smiled, and went home. And they are SO GOOD!!!! Ok so from L-R we have Me, Krysta, Dad (Mike), Mom (Mandy), Sean, Dallon, Tyrell, Javan, Janae & Makynna, and Shay. Since Tyrell and Janae have been married Dad has become Pops and Mom is now Mamma Aje (Let's face it, she would never be called grandma... and I love her for that!!!!) but to me they are still just Mom and Daddy. So hopefully that clears up any future confusion:)

My Family

Everyone always says that they love their family.... but for me it is more than that. Growing up, we didn't really have any relatives that we were close with or lived close to, so instead we just did everything with the 8 of us. Because of this, we have a pretty special little family. Things like dance recitals, football games, class music programs, and such were attended by all my brothers and sisiters without a complaint. Everyone always supports each other, even now that a few of us are "grown ups".
We are lucky to enjoy each other's company and I think its safe to say that we all look forward to the times when we can all be together. We have a lot of family traditions that aren't so "traditional" like going to Rocky Point every year... even if mom and dad said we could go to Disneyland instead. We love to camp, go to the dunes, do anything that involves a body of water, but mostly we just like to keep it simple. Open a bottle of coke, put on some Kenny, and relax.
So, I just thought that it was fitting to start my blog with a post deticated to my family....or "La Familia" as I often refer to them. I'm warning you now that the majority of what I blog about will probably involve at least one memeber of my family, so be prepared!

To my Mom and Dad: Thanks for always supporting my dreams and not being afraid to let me do things my way even when it was probably really scary for you to watch. Thanks for letting me fight my own battles and coming to my rescue whenever I need you. You are wonderful parents and I feel blessed by your example and friendship everyday. LOVE YOU!!!!!!!

To Tyrell, Janae, Javan, and Makynna: Thanks for all that you do for me! You are the best Ajeman II Family :) Ty-thanks for being a great big brother and example to me always. Nae- I always wanted a big sister couldn't have hand picked a one better myself! You're an awesome mom and wife, and I am thankful to have you in our family. Javan & Maky- I am so happy to be your aunt and that I get to spoil the heck out of you!!!!

To Krysta: When I was about 12 years old it occured to me that I never had to try to find a best friend because you were sent directly to my family. You are my rock and my (almost always) quiet example of how to be a truly loving person. Your gentle manner and forgiving heart are a constant reminder to me of how I can be better. I am sooooo thankful to have you as a friend and sister and can't imagine my life with out you! HEART YA!!!!

To Sean: I have never met anyone in my life who is a determined as you..... or who knows as much stuff about stuff!!! It has been so fun to watch you grow from a little boy to a young man. I am proud of you and all you have accomplished in your life and can't wait to see what's to come. xoxo

To Shay: You are forever my baby sister!!! I remember the day that you were born, Krysta and I were so happy to have a real life baby girl to dress up and play with. You are a beautiful dancer and so stinkin' crafty that I wish I could be more like you!!!! MUAH!!!!

To Dallon: You and your little raspy voice just get the best of me everytime. Thanks for always answering mom's phone when she's not around and telling me about your day. Thanks for always snuggling with me on the couch whenever I come home. You are my favorite little boy in the WHOLE WIDE WORLD!!!!! xoxo
